The TUNNEL to TOWERS FOUNDATION 5K races were created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Swiller, a NYC firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
After strapping on his gear, Stephen raced through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel over to the site of the burning Twin Towers.
These races are held all over the U.S.A. raising money that is used to support injured First Responders and Military Heroes who daily make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty.
Since 9/11, Tunnel to Towers Foundation has been assisting American heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.
We are also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001.
All Funds are COMMITTED DIRECTLY to 9/11 programs, education and events.

*The Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial is centered around granite models of the Twin Towers that once graced the New York City Skyline.
In the shape of a pentagon, the base of the Memorial tells the story of 9/11…paying tribute to five groups deeply affected on that historic day…Firefighters, Police, the Airline Industry, Civilians, and the Pentagon.
At the center of this Memorial is an actual I-beam removed from the Twin Towers rubble, carried from Ground Zero by Firefighters and placed at the Memorial by members of Iron Workers Local 44 who volunteered to search for survivors.
On the hillside below the memorial a headstone is placedin memory of BRIAN PATRICK WILLIAMS, our Northern Kentucky son who lost his life on 9/11.
The Park also is home to the Kenton County Veterans Memorial and where you can view the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
